CINCINNATI COMPANY BUILDING GROVE CITY TRAINING CENTER
Cincinnati-based security and fire protection contractor Silco Fire & Security is expanding its Central Ohio offices.
The company is starting work on a 27,500-square-foot office and training center at 2345 Southwest Blvd. on vacant land next to its existing Central Ohio office. The $4 million building will be completed by December, Silco said.
The contractor will use the center to train its 250 staff members, including 60 hired in the past year at five offices across the state. Plans sent to Grove City show the company is leaving room for a 15,000-square-foot addition if necessary.
“Investing so much in a training facility in Columbus, which is the geographic center of our company, was a no-brainer," Silco President David Fraser said in a statement. "We have an amazingly talented workforce and continue to grow and build the best quality technicians in the business.”
Silco opened in Central Ohio in 1994 and has since expanded to Akron and Cleveland. The company also is working on a 41,000-square-foot headquarters in Cincinnati. The firm installs sprinkler systems, fire and security alarms, fire suppression, keyless door systems and video surveillance systems.
