Redevelopment of Showcase Cinemas Site is Building Interest in Erlanger
From Melissa Reinert at Cincinnati.com:
ERLANGER – An iconic "Coming Soon" sign no longer looms over Interstate 75.
Every remnant of the long-closed Erlanger Showcase Cinemas is gone. However, there's been more activity on the vacant land in the last month than there has been in almost two decades. As the grounds are prepped for redevelopment, interest in Erlanger property – from companies across the U.S. – is building up. Cincinnati-based developer Al Neyer has plans to build two commercial buildings on the 135-acre site. The investment totals about $50 million.
Erlanger Mayor Tyson Hermes said the redevelopment means "a lot to our city." He credits the city's proximity to the airport and Downtown Cincinnati as well as easy access to Interstates 75 and 275. Ongoing property tax decreases, and payroll tax incentives, according to Hermes, have also proven to be attention-grabbing for new businesses.
