Al. Neyer is growing its pipeline in Pittsburgh and adding a significant urban redevelopment project to its books. The company is partnering with New Jersey-based Rugby Realty Co. Inc. for a modern development in the highly sought-after Strip District.
The joint venture intends to bring a mixed-use development to a four-acre site on Smallman Street between 21st and 23rd streets in one of Pittsburgh's most thriving areas. The Strip District is northeast of the city's central business district and was once home to many mills and factories along the Allegheny River. The neighborhood's many abandoned warehouses have since been converted into specialty stores, restaurants, and bars.
Al. Neyer has extensive experience with adaptive reuse and mixed-use development in Greater Cincinnati, but this project would be the first of its kind with regard to the firm's work in Western Pennsylvania. The project also includes another specialty of Al. Neyer's design-build team - structured parking.
The opportunity enhances Al. Neyer's already strong book of business in Western Pennsylvania, which includes the Clinton Commerce Center, a five-phase speculative industrial development and design-build project with convenient proximity to the Pittsburgh International Airport.
