AL. NEYER ADDS JULIA POSTON, ERNST & YOUNG'S LONGTIME CINCINNATI CHIEF, TO BOARD OF DIRECTORS
One of Greater Cincinnati's largest real estate developers is adding a well-known leader within the city's business community to its board of directors.
On Tuesday, Al Neyer announced Julia Poston, the recently retired leader of Ernst & Young's Cincinnati office, will join its board of directors. Poston, who led the accounting giant locally for more than a decade, has over 35 years of finance and accounting experience.
“Julia brings unmatched expertise in the challenges and opportunities that entrepreneurial companies face,” Molly North, Al Neyer's president and CEO, said in a statement. “As well, Julia brings strong leadership skills and strategic focus that will help Al Neyer continue to expand as a multi-regional industry leader.”
During her time at EY, Poston doubled the size of the firm's local office to 400 employees and oversaw its move to a new 25,000-square-foot downtown office space.
Poston told me her appointment to the board was a result of her longstanding professional relationship with North. The two have been in talks about the board position for the last year, but Poston was not ready to accept the job until after her retirement from EY.
One area where Poston sees the most potential for growth is in the firm's success in raising capital, she said, citing its expansion into three markets outside of Greater Cincinnati. "Obviously, you can't build a big building if you don't have the capital," she said.
