Last Neyer retiring from firm founded by family
From the Cincinnai Business Courier:
LAST NEYER RETIRING FROM FIRM FOUNDED BY FAMILY
The last member of the Neyer family that works at Al Neyer is retiring.
Jim Neyer, who has spent 23 years at the downtown-based commercial real estate development and design-build firm, will retire on May 1. Neyer served in a variety of roles in his time at Al Neyer, most recently as executive vice president of capital and investments, where he focused on expanding new and current relationships with debt and equity capital partners.
The decision to retire is something Neyer has been working toward for awhile.
“It’s unusual for someone to stay in the business after selling it,” Neyer told me.
While Neyer has told people over the years he’s young enough to go through another economic cycle if he has to, he said May was a good time to retire.
Molly North, CEO of Al Neyer, said Neyer has played a critical role in shaping the company into what it is today.
“You’d be hard-pressed to find someone with as much industry knowledge and hands-on experience as Jim," North said. "And beyond his contributions to Al Neyer, Jim has served as a trusted friend and a committed mentor to countless people, including myself. Opportunities never stop for an entrepreneur like Jim; I know he will continue to positively impact our community in many ways.”
