Al. Neyer plans new industrial park for Fairfield Township

Al. Neyer has reached an agreement with Fairfield city and township officials to partner on a new industrial park project.

Construction on the first building in a new industrial park planned for Fairfield Township could begin as early as June.

Al. Neyer plans to construct three buildings on a 146-acre site located on the east side of Seward Road at the border with the City of Fairfield. They would be targeted for e-commerce, general distribution and manufacturing use.

Both Fairfield and Fairfield Township are partnering with Al. Neyer to bring the Fairfield Logistics Center industrial park project to fruition on a difficult piece of ground to develop.

“It’s a vacant farm with a lot of development challenges. We’re dealing with very wet ground,’’ said Tom Wilson, Al. Neyer’s director, real estate development.

“We feel this is a good project in partnership. It will result in upgraded roadways,’’ said Nathaniel Kaelin, Fairfield’s economic development manager. “It’s also going to result in some new shared revenue for both the city and township.”
